This video, which was shot from a novel perspective, sheds more light on one of the most tragic periods in contemporary history.<\/p>\n<p>The man in the camera, Kei Sugimoto, recently disclosed this footage that had been kept for more than 22 years.<\/p>\n<p>When two of the hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Centre in New York City on September 11, 2001, the Twin Towers collapsed, killing almost 3,000 people.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-19643\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/shortquotesworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_4834.png?resize=800%2C534&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The aftermath of this event changed U.S. foreign policy and had a long-lasting effect on the world. The hijacking of four planes by 19 members of the jihadist terror group Al-Qaeda was a coordinated attack on the United States.<\/p>\n<p>While organising his closet, Kei Sugimoto recently came across boxes of vintage VHS cassettes. Among them was video he shot with a Sony VX2000 camera on 9\/11. Aware that some of the cassettes had already degraded, Sugimoto promptly converted the footage to digital format, providing a previously unseen view of the Twin Towers\u2019 collapse.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-19644\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/shortquotesworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_4835.png?resize=800%2C465&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"465\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">YouTube<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This video shows the Twin Towers collapsing from the north, a viewpoint not often seen in other recordings. It was shot from the roof of a building located at 64 St Marks Place in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>A terrifying reminder of what happened that day is shown to viewers as the towers burst into black smoke and eventually collapse. \u201cThis footage offers a unique perspective not seen from the south or east,\u201d remarked one observer.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-19645\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/shortquotesworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_4836.png?resize=800%2C923&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"923\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sugimoto\u2019s video was released on July 23, 2023, and since then, it has gone popular and sparked conversations on social media. A lot of people were shocked that fresh video of the Twin Tower collapse could still surface this many years later.<\/p>\n<p>One Reddit member remarked, \u201cIt\u2019s crazy that we\u2019re almost 23 years out and still getting new footage.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-19646\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/shortquotesworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_4838.png?resize=430%2C286&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"286\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Pexels<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This video\u2019s release serves as a moving reminder of how crucial it is to preserve historical records. \u201cMakes me wonder how much history is being stored in people\u2019s attics or basements waiting to be unearthed,\u201d pondered a Reddit user.
