After nearly three decades with Fox News Channel (FNC), Neil Cavuto announced his departure on December 20, 2024, during a live broadcast. The network shared a clip of the announcement on Instagram, which also included footage of Cavuto appearing much younger in a broadcast from October 7, 1996.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Joking about how some viewers might be\u00a0thinking<\/a>, \u201cIt\u2019s about time,\u201d the television personality clarified that he was not leaving journalism entirely, only his position at Fox News. He\u00a0remarked<\/a>, \u201cYou know there are people working now who weren\u2019t even born when I started at Fox. That\u2019s how old I am.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The \u201cYour World\u201d host expressed gratitude to his network\u2019s leadership,\u00a0describing<\/a>\u00a0them as \u201cvery good\u201d to him over the years. He shared that they had even offered him a generous opportunity to stay longer, which he found surprising given his challenges with ailments such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and COVID-19, which occasionally kept him away from work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite his struggles with multiple infections and undergoing open-heart surgery, the network still wanted him to stay. Cavuto explained that as he steps away, he chooses to focus on the blessings in his life rather than the issues that divide people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He\u00a0emphasized<\/a>\u00a0that he was leaving with \u201cgood thoughts and wishes,\u201d taking a moment to wish his fans a Merry Christmas and a fulfilling New Year. As he became emotional, he expressed how much his years at the network and his fans meant to him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Reports indicate that Cavuto\u2019s contract will expire at the end of December 2024. A source revealed that the network\u2019s anchors will host his shows on rotation until replacement programming is announced in 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cavuto previously discussed his experience with COVID-19 in February 2022, following an extended absence from television. During a live broadcast, he shared that he had contracted the virus for the second time. Tragically, the\u00a0second infection<\/a>\u00a0was a \u201cfar more serious strain that doctors call COVID pneumonia.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He explained that his diagnosis was not due to the vaccine but rather his compromised immune system. In the past, he has\u00a0battled cancer and MS<\/a>\u00a0and is among the \u201c3% of people who cannot sustain the full benefits of the vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This condition means the vaccine\u2019s effectiveness diminishes rapidly in him. Nonetheless, doctors confirmed that receiving the COVID-19 vaccine provided him with some protection and likely saved his life. Without it, he may not have survived.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
